We open our 2026–27 season with The Roaring 20’s, an afternoon of jazz, Broadway favorites, marches, and some of the greatest music written for concert band.
We’re especially excited to welcome local vocalist, Hannah Rodriguez, who joins the band for three new arrangements created especially for this concert by Denver-area jazz musicians. Hannah will bring her own style to My Funny Valentine, Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens, and Jazz Panorama – The Roaring 20s, a medley of favorites from the era. Backed by the full Denver Concert Band, these songs will bring the sounds of the Jazz Age to life!

Enjoy a musical feast of food, friendship, and holiday cheer featuring Food, Glorious Food, The Peanut Vendor, Sousa’s Fairest of the Fair, and Johan de Meij’s Dutch Masters Suite - a colorful work inspired by Dutch paintings that ends with a lively party. The festivities continue with season favorites including Santa’s Journey, Eric Whitacre’s Lux Aurumque, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. With festive music and a special guest from the North Pole, this concert is a perfect way to begin the holiday season.

Celebrate the many moods of February with pianist Stephanie Cheng performing George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Premiered in February 1924, Gershwin’s classic brings jazz-inspired energy and color to the center of this program. The concert also explores music connected to February holidays, including Valentine’s Day, Brazil's Carnival, Black History Month, and President’s Day through music ranging from romance and celebration to reflection, including Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait.
Experience the spirit, beauty, and wide-open landscapes of Colorado while looking toward the future of concert band music. The program will feature the Denver Concert Band’s Young Artist Competition winner, along with the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by renowned composer, Frank Ticheli. The concert will also include Clifton Williams’ Caccia and Chorale, Zhou Tian’s Nocturne, Rossano Galante’s Colorado Rockies, and music from John Williams’ score to The Cowboys. These works create a musical journey filled with adventure, reflection, and the promise of what lies beyond the horizon.
